President Biden Submits the 2023 Fiscal Year Proposal

Budget reveals the president’s priorities and leadership goals.

President Biden submitted his proposed budget for the 2023 fiscal year to Congress on Monday. The $5.8 trillion plan will look very different at the end of the Congressional approval process, this initial document is a communication of the president’s vision for the 2023 administration and beyond.

In initial reactions to the proposal, members of the president’s party see the military spending as excessive and the minority party views the billionaire tax as unnecessary. But overall, Congress appears satisfied that next year’s budget seems to be on schedule. “Now that the president has done his job, it is up to Congress to review it, pass the proposals that make sense and improve upon it,” said Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of Congress as they take up the president’s proposed budget for the coming year.
  • For wisdom for senators and representatives as they deliberate and negotiate the fine points of the federal budget.
  • For God’s purpose to be accomplished in the United States and its government.
